me who is harboring that thought—why, I ask, should He go to Bethsaida and why should a blind man be brought before Him? He does not cure him in the village, but outside, for he cannot be healed of his blindness in the Law, but in the Gospel. If this very day, Jesus should enter Bethsaida, the synagogue of the Jews, if Jesus—I mean the Divine Word—should go into the synagogue of the Jews, into their council, as long as that blind man is in the synagogue, in the letter of the law, he cannot be healed
